| All precision circular spirit levels / precision bullseye levels with a precision ground glass lens are available with a glow effect in dark surroundings. | |
| To create such glowing effect the levels have to be recharged under daylight to show this glowing effect over a few hours. This effect is continuable. |
YOUR ADVANTAGES
We manufacture precision levels according to your individual requirements and technical specifications. Both the centering ring and the vial fluid can be customized in color to match your application.
All precision levels are available without surcharge in the following sensitivity ratings (specified in arcminutes):
5′ – 6′ – 8′ – 11′ – 17′ – 25′ – 30′ – 40′
We have specialized in the manufacture of precision levels since 1986. Nearly all of our raw materials are sourced from reliable suppliers based in Germany.
Especially in applications where precise alignment and accurate leveling are essential – such as in the weighing industry, mechanical engineering, surveying, camera systems, or specialized technical applications – a high-quality precision level is indispensable. At stahl-libellen.com, we ensure that nothing is left to chance in the successful realization of your projects. For this reason, our precision levels are manufactured in accordance with the highest quality standards.
We produce robust metal precision levels that stand out for their durability, accuracy, and reliability. Our product range includes precision levels with sensitivities from 5 to 40 arcminutes, equipped with a ground glass lens and manufactured entirely without plastic components.
The centering circle is applied to the inner surface of the ground glass on all precision levels to protect it from mechanical abrasion. This design also prevents parallax errors.
The centering circle and the vial fluid can be customized in color according to your specific requirements.
All our precision levels are also available with a non-hazardous filling.
The sensitivity of a level can be specified in two different ways.
One method expresses the sensitivity by the angle in degrees (°), minutes (′), or seconds (″) through which the level must be tilted in order for the bubble to move by 2 mm (1° = 60′ = 3600″).
Another method is specification in mm/m. In this case, the decisive factor is the height difference x in millimeters over a length of 1 meter. Unless otherwise stated, the sensitivity always refers to a bubble displacement of 2 mm.
Our precision levels are available in the following sensitivities (specified in arcminutes):
5′ – 6′ – 8′ – 11′ – 17′ – 25′ – 30′ – 40′

Comparable products of this type are typically manufactured from basic plastic materials, often at the expense of accuracy and prone to cracking and temperature-related deformation. For professional-grade applications, such shortcomings are unacceptable, as they can lead to significant and costly rework.
For this reason, we exclusively manufacture precision levels from metal – available in aluminium, stainless steel, or die-cast zinc versions. Each unit is carefully inspected and optimized for long-term use.
As an experienced manufacturer of precision levels, we offer models that meet the highest quality standards. Our precision levels are particularly well suited for demanding working environments, where they excel in reliability, robustness, and accurate measurement results.
Whether standard precision levels or customized solutions, we provide personal and expert support in selecting the right product for your application.
What are the differences in measurement accuracy between entry-level and high-precision levels?
Low-cost precision levels generally offer limited accuracy and are often manufactured from basic materials such as plastic, which may deform under temperature fluctuations or mechanical shock.
High-quality models, by contrast, are made from precision-machined aluminium or stainless steel and provide superior accuracy. They are impact-resistant, temperature-stable, and calibratable – essential when reproducible measurement results are required.
In short: A professional precision level not only measures more accurately, but also maintains consistent precision over many years of use.
Which precision level is most suitable for field applications and construction site environments?
For outdoor applications, robust, weather-resistant, and impact-resistant precision levels are essential. Models featuring an anodized housing to prevent corrosion, as well as an impact-resistant glass vial, are particularly recommended.
Clear readability is also crucial in field use – therefore, high-contrast vial fluids and large viewing areas are ideal.
What factors should be taken into account when selecting a precision level for surveying work?
When selecting a precision level for professional surveying applications, the following criteria are decisive:
By considering these factors, you are not merely investing in a measuring device, but in reliable precision for daily professional use – and that is precisely our area of expertise.

... that the animal got its name because of its ability to balance. Libelle comes from libra, the diminutive of the Latin word libra (scales). Above all, this was used to designate spirit levels and the instruments of measurement technology are still known today under the word dragonfly.
